This unapologetically juicy, hedonistic wine celebrates all the corners of the Napa Valley. The 2022 vintage exhibits aromas of savory black fruits, cassis, chocolate, and espresso that jump out of the glass. The palate delivers an opulent abundance of fruit and intricate complexity, with classic minerality surrounded by velvet tannins.

Benoit Touquette, a native of Bordeaux, arrived in Napa Valley in the mid-2000s, having graduated from L’Université de Bordeaux with master’s degrees in Chemistry and Oenology. With the advice and help of his good friend and mentor, the renowned wine consultant Michel Rolland, he moved to Napa Valley and soon landed an internship with winemaking consultant Andy Erickson.
Benoit’s three-month internship eventually turned into a full-time position, and for the next few years – except for a harvest spent in South Africa – he worked side by side with Andy making wine for prestigious brands such as Dalla Valle, Ovid, and Screaming Eagle. It was a fantastic opportunity, one that allowed him to explore the diversity of vineyards throughout Napa Valley. In 2007, anxious to strike out on his own, Benoit formed his own consulting business and Fait-Main is his own small project. Fait-Main means “handmade” - a name that reflects care, craft, and the singular expression of each vintage.
Napa Valley was the first AVA established in California and remains its most prestigious. Cradled between the Mayacamas and Vaca Mountain ranges, the valley extends 30 miles in length with an enormous diversity of soils, aspects and microclimates shaping the terroir. Deep loamy soils on the valley floor give way to shallow and rocky mountain slopes, and volcanic tufa where seismic activity once coated the region in ash. Coupled with the wide range of elevations, slopes, and exposures, this diversity creates thousands of unique growing conditions and possibilities.
Fait-Main’s Napa Valley AVA Cabernet is assembled with fruit from all of Fait-Main’s acclaimed single-vineyard sources, in addition to several other esteemed and up-and-coming vineyards that will become single-vineyard expressions in time. It celebrates the unique and multifaceted charisma of Napa Valley, writ large.
