Made from equal parts Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier. It has that insinuating nose that only champagne can offer, full of biscuity intrigue. Crisp and fresh, with a beguiling gingery overtone, this is a mighty satisfying “basic” champagne that is a poster-child for what makes our grower friends such a rewarding source for this most important of beverages.
A family owned business spanning 9 generations with current owner Thierry and Gracianne along with their two children, Louis and Marthe in the Montagne de Reims. The family is focused around crafting Champagne from a rich diversity of terroirs that creates very aromatic wines.
When harvest time is coming, the grapes of each plot are manually picked and pressed separately. This rigorous quality tracking system enables us to work with different maturity stages and to create the most subtle blends with round pinots meuniers, fruity chardonnays, powerful and vinous pinots noirs. Mother Nature provides opulent flavors that we will gradually help to enhance.
The Montagne de Reims lies between the Marne and the Vesle Rivers, forming a broad, undulating headland of forests and thickets that stretches east-west for about 30km and north-south for 6-10km. Vines carpet the limestone slopes and steep valleys of the famous Champagne villages of Bouzy and Ambonnay, following the contours of the mountain from Trépail to Villers-Marmery, before disappearing from view in the folds and creases of its northern flank, skirting the plain of Rheims and the famously picturesque villages of Verzenay, Mailly and Verzy.
