This luxurious Cabernet Sauvignon offers aromas of blackberry, raspberry compote, plum and warm winter spices, as well as hints of lavender. The dark fruit layers are echoed on the palate, where they mingle with notes of dark chocolate, coffee, and star anise, with plush, velvety tannins carrying the wine to a long, rich finish.
The Postmark wines were formerly produced from Napa Vally grapes. From 2019, the wine is sourced from Paso Robles fruit.
Paso Robles AVA is centrally located between San Francisco and Los Angeles along California’s Central Coast. With a greater day-to-night temperature swing than any other appellation in California, distinct microclimates, diverse soils, and a long growing season, Paso Robles is a unique wine region blessed with optimal growing conditions for producing delicious wines.
The area sees rainfall levels that vary from desert-like 10 inches/year up to 40 inches in the higher elevation regions, reaching up to 2400 feet on the west side with lower sites in the east starting around 700 feet. The region encompasses over 612,000 acres, making it California’s largest AVA, but only 40,000 of those acres are planted to grapevines. There are more than 60 wine grape varieties grown in Paso Robles, ranging from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to Syrah, Viognier and Roussanne, to Zinfandel, the area’s heritage wine varietal.
