Reviewers note an initial earthiness blending into mushroom, tobacco, forest floor (sous-bois), and an occasional, distinctive briny note.

Flavor Profile: The palate presents a riper profile than typical Volnay vintages due to the hot 2003 growing season. It is characterized by dried cherry, plum, and earthy undertones.

Structure: True to the estate's minimal cellar intervention style (short barrel aging with low new oak), the tannins have fully integrated into a smoother, savory core, keeping the profile elegant despite the natural low acidity and high heat of its harvest year.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0044/7165/2425/files/RobertAmpeauVolnay-Santenots1erCru_896cb573-7b3f-4ded-9659-5f01f3a457de.png?v=1772642435
